Suspected Daesh group chief arrested from Lahore

LAHORE – Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Thursday said it had arrested a group of alleged terrorists including their ring leader of banned organisation Daesh during search operation in Lahore.

CTD officials said that the arrested chief of this group, identified as Nabeel Abi Abdullah, a resident of Lahore, who was involved in sending people from Lahore to Syria and Afghanistan in the name of Jihad. “It was further told that the ring leader of the group has dispatched several people to Syria and Afghanistan so far”, the officials added.

The CTD has been conducted search operations since the last three months for the arrest of this gang and now they were apprehended after full investigation.

“The suspects were planning a major terrorist attack in provincial capital”, they explained.

A large cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the criminals.
