ISLAMABAD – As many as five members of the ‘strategic media cell’ of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) allegedly formed by Maryam Nawaz have been taken into custody from Lahore for launching a social media campaign against army and judiciary, Online news agency claimed in a report on Tuesday.
According to Online, Maryam, the daughter of ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, had shifted the alleged cell to Dubai after her father’s removal from office.
This media cell had allegedly run an organised campaign of mudslinging against the army and judiciary, and the five persons taken into custody have reportedly confessed to their ‘crime’, Online claimed.
The news agency claimed that 26 other members of this cell have also been identified and they will be arrested soon.
