LONDON – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has reached the United Kingdom to participate in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, being held from April 18 to 20.
At the London airport, British authorities and Pakistan High Commissioner Syed Ibne Abbas welcomed the premier at the airport.
The conference is being held with its main theme, “Towards A Common Future” where leaders of member countries will get an opportunity to exchange their views on matters of mutual interest.
Abbasi will actively attend all executive and retreat sessions as well as a number of events, which will be organised on the sidelines of the conference.
At the high-level moot, the prime minister will have an opportunity to highlight the development in Pakistan and its transition to an emerging market in the South Asia.
The prime minister will attend the reception being hosted by Queen Elizabeth II. He will call on the Prince of Wales and meet with Prime Minister Theresa May amongst other Commonwealth leaders.
Pakistan is one of the founding members of the organization, which comprises 53 member states, representing nations of all continents of the world.
