ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – A high level meeting was held in Islamabad with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the chair to discuss the overall situation of internal security with a special focus on revival of peace in FATA and Karachi.
The meeting also took up situation in Afghanistan in the light recent developments during the Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process meeting and President Ashraf Ghani’s visit to Islamabad earlier this month.
The meeting was attended by Army Chief (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, DG ISI Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Defence Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif, Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and other senior civil and military officers.
