LAHORE – General Raheel Sharif, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) paid a visit to his alma mater Government College University (GCU) Lahore and interacted with the students and faculty members, today.
To revive his old memories, he visited various sections of the prestigious institute especially those parts where he had spent his days as a student.
While paying rich tributes to both the faculty and management of the university for their role towards grooming and honing the youth, the COAS said the GCU has always played a pivotal role in producing a stream of scholars, scientists, artists and intellectuals of international acclaim, who have contributed immensely in their respective domain.
COAS emphasized on the youth to always focus on 3Cs (Character, Courage and Competence) and strive for honor and dignity through hard work and faith in Allah. The COAS while expressing his optimism

Operation Zarb-e-Azb has laid a strong foundation for peace and progress of the country and you can play an important role towards taking Pakistan to new heights, he said.

Soon after the speech concluded, scores of Ravians gathered around the military chief for a selfie.
It is worth mentioning that not only Gen Raheel Sharif, but Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, former premier Yousaf Raza Gillani and Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, senator Aitzaz Ahsan and many others have attended the ‘crème de la crème’ Government College University Lahore.
