LAHORE – The Lux Style Awards 2018 are playing their part this year to bring attention to an important social issue: sexual misconduct and human rights.
Just like the #MeToo movement and stars’ solidarity with the victims at Grammy Awards by wearing black, LSA 2018 will have stars like Shehzad Roy and Aima Baig performing, making a point about human rights violation(s).
A recomposition by Shani Arshad, ‘Kya Darta Hai’ is an anthem in line with the #MeToo movement, showing support to the victims.
There will be two major performances. Shehzad Roy will be leading the show, with his performance with 36 individuals and a 40-piece orchestra in ‘Kya Darta Hai’.
The list of performers include performers include Shehzad Roy, Aima Baig, Sanam Marvi, Farhan Saeed, Amanat Ali, Abu Muhammad, Fareeduddin and his son Raziuddin Ahmed, Fuzon, Goher Mumtaz, Zoe and Rachel Viccaji, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Humera Channa, Natasha Baig, Sitarist Nafees Ahmed, Syed Mikail Murshed, Pepsi Battle of the Bands winner Kashmir, Lyari Underground and Jasim and The Pindi Boys.
Talking about LSA, Frieha Altaf to Express Tribune, “Lux Style Awards 2018 will serve as the movement’s launchpad. I feel like not many local celebrities are speaking up and speaking out for causes and this is a way to bring the entire industry on board for a human rights campaign.”
The campaign is in partnership with Calpak Education Services.
