LONDON (Web Desk) – A 103-year-old man has married a 91-year-old woman in Britain.
The couple has officially been recognised as the worlds’ oldest to marry – a combined age of 194 years and 280 days. The couple tied the knot this summer.
According to Guinness World Records, proud groom George Kirby, 103, revealed how he proposed his bride Doreen Luckie, 91, on Valentine’s Day. He said: “I did not get down on one knee, because I do not think I would have been able to get back up.”
George Kirby and Doreen Luckie had first met in 1988 with the help of an organisation which helps older people to make friends.
