NEW DELHI – The makers of Padmavati have voluntarily postponed the release of Padmavati, according to sources.
Recently, after BJP leader placing a 10 Crore (INR) bounty actress Deepika Padukone and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the makers of the film sought the decision to delay the release.

Suraj Pal Amu, BJP leader had earlier said to a loyal crowd of followers, “I want to congratulate the Meerut youth who announced a Rs 5-crore bounty for beheading Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali,We will reward those who behead them with Rs 10 crore and also take care of their family’s needs.”
Amu also threatened actor Ranveer Singh for supporting Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He said that Ranveer should take back his words in support of the director or they will “break his legs”.
Viacom Pictures has therefore released an official statement saying: “Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the studio behind Padmavati has voluntarily deferred the release date of the film from December 1st 2017.”

The new date for the release will be announced after the “requisite clearances” for the movie as quoted, “We are responsible, law-abiding corporate citizen and have the highest respect and regard for the law of the land and all our institutions and statutory bodies including the Central Board of Film Certification.”
