ISLAMABAD – Former finance minister Asad Umar has thanked the people who expressed their support to him over the last two days.
In a tweet, Asad Umar wrote: “Want to thank the many many people who expressed support over the last 2 days. It is the millions of selfless, ideological, passionate supporters who are guardians of ideology of the tehreek.”

The Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf leader added that “It’s your passion from which Imran Khan & his team draw energy. May Allah bless you all.”
Earlier on Thursday, Asad Umar announced to quit his portfolio as finance minister, expressing firm commitment to continue working for materializing the dream of prosperous ‘Naya Pakistan’ under the leadership of Imran Khan.

He announced his resignation during a press conference, soon after his tweet on his social media account on the issue.
He said amid reshuffle news, he convinced the prime minister on his decision to step down from the cabinet, instead of taking any other portfolio.
