LAHORE – Two men were killed in a shooting incident in Lahore’s lower court complex on Tuesday.
As per reports, Lawyer Kashif Rajput opened fire within the premises of sessions court in which two lawyers, identified as Rana Nadeem Advocate and Awais, received bullet injuries.
One of the lawyers, Nadeem, succumbed to his injuries on the spot, while the other died after he was shifted to the Mayo hospital.
According to police, Rajput is a cousin of deceased Nadeem and family dispute is a motive behind the killing. The assailant has been arrested by the police.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the firing incident and sought a report from the police. He also expressed grief over the killing of the lawyers.
On Jan 31, two people, including a policeman and under-custody suspect, were killed during a firing incident outside the sessions court in Lahore.
As per reports, unknown armed men sprayed bullets at their opponents, who had been brought to court by police to attend a hearing.
The deceased has been identified as Malik Amjad, a suspect, and a head constable Asif, while the other arrested suspect Ahsan got injured.
Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz took notice of the shootout at court and sought a report from the officials.
