Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed remarked “no record of appointments is available. God knows better how many came and how many left”.
The counsel for employees told the court those working with his client have been regularized.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed said in a lighter tone “his client’s colleagues have spent money. So should by his client”.
CJ Anwar Zaheer Jamali remarked “citing to article-25 has become very much common. Tomorrow someone will bring an application that difference in pay between officers of different grades runs contrary to the constitution”.
Following the completion of arguments by counsel the court ordered the Railway authorities to review the cases and applications of daily-wagers in accordance with the law.
