Power shortfall to continue till 2020: NEPRA

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) said that shortfall of electricity supply would continue in Pakistan till 2020 despite competition of all ongoing power projects.
In a fact sheet issued to media, NEPRA noted that government and federal institutions failed to improve the situation of demand and supply of electricity in country. Rupees 4.80 billion that were paid to cut short the circular debt in 2013 also field to rescue the system.
According to the report electricity theft and special privileges to the employees of power supply companies are also among the reasons that worsened the situation.
