Peasant’s 13-year-old daughter ‘gang-raped’ in Dadu

DADU – As the incumbent governments in the center and provinces failed to draft legislation to curb rape cases, another heart-wrenching incident happened in Daud Kandhro village, Sindh, where some influential persons allegedly gang-raped a teenage girl.

On Sunday, the 13-year-old daughter of a peasant lodged a complaint with Thrari Mohabbat police station where she reached along with her parents.

She told police that five people kidnapped her from a street and took her to a house four days ago where they raped her, and also filmed the entire incident.

She claimed that the accused freed her after an hour, warning her of spreading the video or approaching the police for complaint.

She could not report the incident to the police as the accused were monitoring her every movement in order to bar her from reaching the police station. On Sunday, she managed to reach the police station and lodged the complaint.

According to Station House Officer (SHO) of Thrari Mohabbat said that one of the suspects has been arrested, while raids are being conducted for the others.

However, the victim girl has been sent to a senior gynaecologist at Dadu Civil Hospital for medical examination after a doctor at Radhan basic health centre, where she was first referred, found complications.

The relatives of the girl also staged a protest in front of the press club in Thrari Mohabbat. The mother of the victim informed journalists that they were being pressed for withdrawing the case by the suspects.
