ISLAMABAD –  The Islamabad residence of seasoned journalist, Marvi Sirmed was found ransacked Thursday night as the family returned back home after spending Eid holidays away from the city.

Two laptops, one smartphone, passports of family members among other travel documents were taken away by the unknown suspects.

Revealing the details about the mysterious bid, Sirmed said that apparently, the miscreants went through all of the family’s belongings but did not get away with valuables such as the jewellery.

She continued that the miscreants detached the new passports and took the valid ones, leaving the expired behind.

The Daily Times correspondent – who has been critical of the role of military in politics –  said the police have written a complaint but an FIR hasn’t been lodged yet.

‘I don’t know much about the incident except that it was similar to an incident that happened in 2010 while we lived in another house,’ Sirmed observed.

She was unaware as to who could be behind the robbery bid adding she doesn’t even have precious jewellery or such valuables at the ransacked residence.
