Pakistan, Iran agree to enhance bilateral ties against terrorism

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan and Iran officials have decided to enhance mutual cooperation to counter terrorism, drugs and human trafficking.

This development surfaced after two-day long 5th Pak Iran Permanent Border Committee meeting held in Iranian city Zahedan on Friday.

Director General Balochistan Levies Force Tariq-ur-Rehman led the 10 members Pakistani delegation while Iranian side was represented by Seestan Balochistan’s Director General for Administration and Security Affairs Ghulam Raza Ganji.

Both sides agreed to increase joint patrolling along the Pak Iran border to avoid border violations. The meeting also decided to strengthen mutual trade and take steps to avoid illegal immigration.
