LAHORE – A young man died after drowning in the swimming pool of Punjab University on Tuesday, according to media reports.
Rescuers pulled out the body of Abu Bakar, 25, with the help of students at the New Campus of the varsity.
Young boys find a fool-proof way of beating the heat by jumping into the cool waters of the swimming pools in the city, especially the Lahore Canal, to beat the scorching heat. Hundreds of people, frustrated with the heat and load-shedding could be witnessed sitting at the side of the canal, with their feet dipped in water.
