NEW YORK (Web Desk) – Pakistan has signed the Paris Agreement on climate change accord at high-level ceremony in the United Nations General Assembly, Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan inked the agreement on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.
The agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to well below 2 degree Celsius. It is due to come into force in 2020.
One hundred seventy-five countries signed the agreement.
