Karachi police kill two suspected robbers in encounter

KARACHI – Police on Thursday killed two suspects in an encounter on Shahra-e-Quaideen near Ferozabad area, Karachi.

The killed suspects were looting a citizen when the police reached th site, prompting robbers to open fire at the personnel, police said.

As police fired back, both suspects received injuries. They were shifted to Jinnah Hospital where they succumbed to the wounds.

Police said weapons and a motorbike were recovered from the possession of the suspects.

Police encounters have been taking place in the city and in some incident, innocent citizens were shot dead, raising eyebrows over the performance of the security officials.

Earlier in the year, the killing of an aspiring model and a shopkeeper, Naqeebullah Mehsud, along with three others, in a staged encounter stirred anger in the country. The case is under trial at an anti-terrorism court.
