PATTOKI (Staff Report) – As many as thirteen persons were killed and twenty-five other injured when a passenger van fell into canal near Changa Manga on Saturday.
According to police, the van was heading towards Pattoki from Chhanga Manga when it skidded of a bridge near Waan Aadan due to tyre burst and fell into BS Link Canal.
Resultantly 13 persons, including eight men, four women and a child, drowned while 10 others were rescued. The rescued ones were admitted to Tehsil HeadQuarters Hospital, Pattoki.
According to locals, most of the victims belonged to Adan village of Pattoki
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in the accident.
