PTI, PAT to launch joint anti-government campaign after LB polls

LAHORE (Staff Report) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have decided to launch a joint movement against Punjab government and federal government after the local government elections that have been scheduled on October 31.

The anti-government campaign will be focused on against rigging, corruption and “criminal attitude” of the government.

Speaking to newsmen after a meeting at the PAT Secretariat in Model Town on Thursday, PTI Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Sarwar and Abdul Aleem Khan along with the PAT representatives Khurram Gandapur, Aleem Khan, Mohammed Saeed, Basharat Jaspal and Ch Ishtiaq said they have agreed to launch a movement against the government over the Model Town tragedy, government-sponsored and planned rigging in the elections and the massive corruption of the Punjab government in every project that it has started.

PTI and PAT have formed a coordination committee comprising of three representatives from each party to make preparation of anti-government campaign.

The delegations discussed the present political situation of the country and the talks continued for over an hour.
