Three killed, 27 injured in Quetta blast

QUETTA (Web Desk) – At least three people were killed and 27 injured in a blast near the Balochistan provincial capital’s Almo Chowk on Friday, a private TV channel reported.

Police and rescue teams reached the site of the incident and started the investigation. The blast went off outside a shop in the crowded Almo Chowk market when locals were busy in Ramazan and pre-Eid shopping.

The incident took place near a shop on Airport Road and quickly spread panic in the area. The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Quetta for treatment. Three of the injured are in critical condition. Rescue officials confirmed that children and women were also among the injured.

The explosion damaged window panes and walls of nearby shops and homes. According to initial report, the bomb that caused the carnage had been planted on a bicycle.
