Punjab govt changed Model town massacre FIR, interfering with trial: Tahirul Qadri

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr. Tahirul Qadri has once again alleged that the Sharif brothers were responsible for the killing of 14 of his party’s workers during a protest in Model Town, which police brutally cracked down on some two years ago.

Talking to a local television channel, the PAT supremo said that the Punjab government had directly issued orders to the police to massacre his party’s workers, adding that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister had masterminded the whole affair.

“We never interfered with the judicial process. If the incumbent government has nothing to hide and doesn’t want to shoot itself in the foot then it should publish the commission’s report prepared by Justice Baqar Najafi,” he said.

“The FIR for this case was only registered after an order from Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif,” he said.

“Even after that order, the FIR was changed to suit the ends of the government,” he added.
