ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Iran on Tuesday denied that senior Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor had entered Pakistan through the Iranian border.
However, a copy of the Wali Mohammad’s passport obtained by the Pakistani media shows the documents stamped with an Iranian visa, casting doubt over Iran’s position on the issue.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jabir Ansari denied the media reports that Mullah Mansoor entered Pakistan from Iran’s border. He also denied that a person named Wai Mohammed was living in Iran.
He said Iran would support every step of the Afghan peace process.
On the other hand, private TV channels in Pakistan claimed to have obtained a copy of Wali Mohammad’s passport , stamped with an Iranian visa.
The document is reportedly stamped with two Iranian visa: the first was issued from 15 March 2015 to 13 June 2015, while the second is a 6-month multiple-entry visa, issued from 12 March to 14 September 2016.
