Pakistan, ILO to sign MoU for third DWCP

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The International Labour Organization will sign memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Pakistan for Third Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) in Islamabad on Thursday (May 26).

The program seeks to uphold rights for Pakistan’s 60 million strong work force, which largely operates in informal economy and the agriculture sector, in particular.

Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis in collaboration with Employers Federation of Pakistan (EFP) and Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF) have developed the third DWCP for Pakistan with the technical support of the ILO.

Pakistan’s DWCP was developed through a consultative process that included a wide range of stakeholders including academia, media, officials of the government’s Economic Affairs Division and the Women in Development Department, in addition to representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Commerce and Foreign Affairs.
