ISLAMABAD – Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday termed the deliberate targeting of innocent civilians by Indian security forces as “unprofessional and unacceptable”.
COAS said this while holding a special meeting at Corps Headquarters Rawalpindi to review the situation at the Line of Control following the killing of civilians.
At least nine passengers were killed when Indian forces targeted a civil bus in Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir.
The focus of the meeting was on Wednesday’s civil bus attack which resulted in martyrdom of innocent passengers.
Gen Raheel appreciated the morale of the troops and the most befitting response given by them. Any future violations must also get
‘Any future violations must also get instant and effective response’ he added.
Tension on LoC also took lives of army men as three Pakistani army men were martyred after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing across Line of Control (LoC), Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Wednesday.
Captain Taimoor Ali Khan, Hawaldar Mushtaq, and Lance Naik Ghulam Hussain valiantly embraced martyrdom in Kotli sector along the Line of Control while responding to Indian unprovoked firing.
