ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has written a letter to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) seeking action against the host of a private TV channel program for allegedly distorting facts and figures about suspended official of KPK Education Department during his show.
PTI central media head Iftikhar Durrani has written a letter to the PEMRA chairman demanding action against Saleem Safi, who hosts “Jirga” on Geo TV. The PTI leader alleged Safi misused the platform for targeting PTI provincial government and its leadership.
The letter said that the TV anchor leveled baseless allegations against PTI provincial government and its leadership.
The letter further asked the regulatory authority to take action against Safi as per rules and regulations of PEMRA.
Saleem Safi had aired a programme, during which he interviewed Azra Afridi, the lady who had disrupted press conference of Imran Khan on August 3 in Islamabad.
