Four terrorists killed in hours-long encounter with Rangers in Karachi

KARACHI – Four terrorists, including a woman, were killed in an hours-long exchange of fire with Rangers inside a residential building in Karachi early Tuesday.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the operation was launched against the members of banned outfit, who were believed to be present inside a building in Urdu Bazaar street no. 3 as indicated by one of their colleague who was earlier arrested.

As soon as the law enforcers reached the site, the miscreants attacked them with hand grenades and opened fire, leaving four para-military troops wounded.

The operation continued for seven hours, during which three of the terrorists blew themselves up while another terrorist was killed as he tried to flee the scene. The incident also killed a five-year-old child who was present inside the house with terrorists.

The building where the miscreants had taken refuge, and nearby properties were evacuated as the exchange of fire began between the two sides.

Detailing the operation, Rangers spokesperson said one of the deceased terrorists was identified as Zahid while the building was cleared after a thorough search operation.

“A huge cache of explosives, weapons and hand grenades were also seized from the flat, where the terrorists had been staying,” said the spokesperson.
