ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Ambassador of Tajikistan Sherali Jononov has said that supply of cheap electricity to Pakistan through CASA-1000 is expected to start from 2018.
Addressing the business community at a function in Islamabad, he said Tajikistan has already started upgrading its hydel power stations, which will be completed well before 2018.
The Ambassador said another project to provide gas to Pakistan and India through TAPI is also under construction. A transit trade agreement has already been signed among Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India.
He said the National Bank of Pakistan has already established its branch in Dushanbe, which has brought a significant improvement in bilateral trade.
