Schools in Punjab to get solar energy

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has approved shifting of government schools in the province on solar energy under “Off-Grid Solution Program.”
This was decided at a high level meeting in Lahore on Sunday.
The Chief Minister said, in the first phase of Off-Grid Solution Program, more than four thousand primary schools in rural areas will be shifted on solar energy. He also asked to prepare a feasible program for provision of solar home solution, to low income families. He also directed solar conversion projects for Basic Health Units and agriculture tube-wells.
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif also asked to prepare a pilot project for provision of solar and bio gas energy, to the rural areas. He directed to review launching of the same program in Thal as well.
