30 more killed as jets pound militant hideouts in Tirah Valley

KHYBER AGENCY (Web Desk) – At least 30 militants, including five foreigners, have been killed in air strikes by jet fighters in Tirah Valley in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

Official sources have also confirmed death of a key militant. Five militants are reported to be injured.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the jet fighters also targeted two depots of arms and explosives, destroying them completely.

On Tuesday, at least 20 militants were killed by security forces in the same area. Five terrorists, all of them foreigners, were killed in Kuki Khel area.

Pakistan Army has been fighting a war inside the country and has launched a large-scale offensive, Khyber-II.

Last month, Commandant of the Khyber Rifles Col Tariq Hafeez told the media about Khyber-II military operation that has been launched against Taliban and other terrorist groups hiding in different parts of Tirah Valley.

He pledged that security forces would now reclaim all areas now under control of several outlawed militant groups in Khyber Agency.
