LAHORE – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday restored former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muhammad Ali Nekokara to his position.
Nekokara was removed from his police post two years ago.
Nekokara was suspended on March 3, 2015 after refusing to use force to keep the charging PTI and PAT protestors away from key government buildings at the Constitution Avenue in Islamabad.
Earlier this month, the officer submitted an appeal to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif against his dismissal before going to the tribunal and the Supreme Court as per rules.
“I have denied all charges and questioned the fairness of the proceedings,” Mr Nekokara said after submitting his appeal with the PM Office.
