2nd Test: Pakistan beat West Indies by 133 runs, clinch Test series 2-0

ABU DHABI – Yasir Shah brilliantly took 10 wickets as Pakistan thrashed West Indies by 133 runs in the second Test match in Abu Dhabi here on Tuesday.

West Indies, chasing 456 in the fourth innings, were all out for 322 in the second session of the final day as the hosts clinched the series.

Leg-spinner Yasir Shah has figures of 10-201. Windies started day five on 171-4 but leggie Yasir Shah once again was on song when he bagged first three wickets on day five. The visitors went into lunch with 272-7 on board.

After lunch, Left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar dismissed Shai Hope while Yasir accounted for Miguel Cummins. Zulfiqar bagged the last wicket of the match as Divendra Bishoo top-edges one into the air for Pakistan captain Misbahul Haq to catch.

Earlier, Pakistan scored 452 runs in the first innings of the match courtesy Younus Khan’s 127.

Pakistan leads the three-match series 2-0 after winning the first Test by 56 runs in Dubai.


Veteran batsman Younis Khan, pacer Rahat Ali and spinner Zulfiqar Babar marked a return to the side in place of Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz and Babar Azam.

This Test is Misbah-ul-Haq’s 48th as Pakistan captain, as he equals Imran Khan’s record for captaining the most Tests for the country. Pakistan have won 23 Tests, lost 13 under Misbah’s leadership.

The third and final Test will be played in Sharjah from October 30-November 3.

Pakistan won the T20I and ODI series 3-0 and are on their way to whitewash the Windies in the Tests as well.
