KARACHI (Staff Report) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Faisal Vawda and Imran Ismail narrowly escaped a bid on their life when armed men attacked them near city’s Delhi Colony area on Friday.
Both the leaders remained unharmed as their vehicle was bullet-proof. Both were on the way after returning from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) office.
Police said that unidentified motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire at the bulletproof vehicle of Faisal Vawda and Imran Ismail near Delhi Colony, Karachi when they were on their way to home from NAB office.
Talking to the media, Faisal Vawda said that two armed motorcyclists attacked him but by the grace of Allah Almighty, he survived the attack.
Ismail claimed assailants riding two motorcycles targeted the car and opened fire from two sides.
While coming back from NAB we were attacked by motorcyclists. 6 shots were fired on FV jeep. We r safe Alhamdollilah

The attackers managed to flee the crime scene.
Police cordoned off the area after the attack and launched an investigation into the incident.
Empty shells of 9MM pistol were found on the site of the attack, where police reached and initiated investigation.
NAB had summoned Vawda for an inquiry pertaining to fraudulent allotment of amenity plots. The notice was issued on Thursday under Section 19 of the National Accountability Ordinance.
