Sri Lanka set 369 run target against Pakistan in final one-day

HAMBANTOTA (Web Desk) – Sri Lanka gave Pakistan 368 runs target to win the fifth and final one-day international in Hambantota on Sunday.

Left-handed opener Kusal Perera hit 116, sharing a first-wicket stand of 164 with Tillakaratne Dilshan, who completed 10,000 one-day runs during his innings of 62.

Skipper Angelo Mathews hammered an unbeaten 70 and Milinda Siriwardana plundered 52 not out off 26 balls as Sri Lanka surpassed their previous best against Pakistan of 349-9 in Singapore in 1996.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and bat first against Pakistan. Pakistan have already won the series after beating the host by seven wickets in the fourth ODI at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

Pakistan won the series after nine years against Sri Lanka in their homeland. After winning the series, the Green-shirts have moved up to eighth in the ICC ODI rankings and also qualified for ICC Champions Trophy 2017. The Champions Trophy is scheduled from June 1st to 19th in England.
