LAHORE – Daily Pakistan proudly takes credit of revealing the name of new chief of Pakistan armed forces nearly a month before the appointment of General Qamar Javed Bajwa as next Chief of Army Staff today (November 26).
On October 30, Daily Pakistan was the first news organisation in the country to predict the long-awaited appointment of Pakistan’s most powerful person – the Army Chief.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa will replace General Raheel Sharif as 16th Chief of Army Staff while General Zubair Mahmood Hayat will take charge from General Rashad Mahmood of the office of Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee, as pre-revealed by Daily Pakistan.
In an exclusive story titled “Government, Army reach consensus on the next COAS”, Daily Pakistan’s Saeed Chaudhary revealed “Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa is very likely to be appointed as the new Chief of army staff while Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat as the new Chairman of Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC).”
