ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday held separate meetings with newly appointed COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa and CJCSC General Zubair Hayat in his office.
Lt Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lt Gen Zubair Hayat, who have been promoted to the rank of four-star generals, would take up their new posts from Tuesday, the day the current army chief Raheel Sharif retires.
Nawaz Sharif, who is the first Pakistani prime minister to appoint five army chiefs, congratulated the new army chief and chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee on their appointement and wished them best of luck for future.
