Pakistan Navy, ANF seize 1,500kg hashish in joint raid near Ormara

GWADAR – The Pakistan Navy Monday successfully carried out an anti-narcotics operation and recovered 1,500 kilograms of hashish worth millions of dollars near Ormara, Balochistan.

According to a spokesman of Pakistan Navy, the intelligence-based operation was carried out with help of the anti-narcotics force.

The Navy also took four drug peddlers into custody and an investigation into the matter is underway.

“Pakistan Navy is determined to fulfill its national obligations and to uphold the rule of law in the Indian Ocean,” the spokesman added.

In September, the Pakistan Navy and Maritime Security Agency took three tonnes of hashish into possession from a boat in northern Arabian Ocean.

The seized narcotics was later handed over to relevant authorities.

The Navy says these operations are necessary to maintain law and order and the forces will continue to play their role in curbing illegal activities.
