DUBAI – Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah took career-best eight wickets to bowl New Zeland out for 90 runs in the third day of the second Test against New Zealand on Monday.
Yasir finished with 8-41 in 12.3 overs. His figures are also the third best by a Pakistani bowler in Test cricket. In this process, he also picked up 100 wickets in UAE in just his 16th match.
The Kiwis resumed the second session at 61/4 with Kane Williamson and BJ Watling at the crease. However, the whole side could only manage to add another 27 runs before being bowled out.
Only three batsmen managed to score in three figures while five batsmen were dismissed without scoring.
Jeet Raval made 31 runs while Kane Williamson and Tom Latham scored 28 and 22 runs respectively for the side.
Pakistan declared their first innings at 418/5 with Haris Sohail scoring 147 runs and Babar Azam contributing 127 runs with the bat. Azhar Ali made 81 runs for the side.
New Zealand have a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series. They won at Abu Dhabi by a close margin of four runs.
