LAHORE – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Salman Shahbaz and Hamza Shahbaz, sons of former chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, in a case pertaining to the alleged illegal construction of a bright for their sugar mills in Chiniot.
The brothers have been directed to appear before the anti-graft buster agency on October 30. According to the media reports, the inquiry is related to the construction of the bridge to facilitate Ramaza Sugar Mills owned by Shehbaz family.
The NAB claimed that the former chief minister allegedly issued an illegal order for the bridge construction during his tenure in 2014 to facilitate his sons. The bridge was reportedly completed in 2016 over River Chenab. It is claimed that Rs200 million were paid from the national kitty to build the one-kilometere long bridge.

The anti-graft buster also summoned the sons of PML-N president on November 2 in connection to a case of assets beyond means.
Both brothers had previously appeared before the NAB where they were interrogated for accumulating assets allegedly beyond known sources of income.
Punjab assembly opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz is also alleged in another case pertaining to irregularities in the Saaf Pani Company.
