KARACHI (Web Desk) – The first meeting of the newly formed Joint Investigation Team to probe the Baldia Town factory fire was chaired by Additional Inspector General (AIG) Khadim Hussqain on Friday.
The members of the team, Rangers Colonel Sajjad Bashir, FIA Additional Director Altaf Hussain and DIG Crime Branch Mushtaq Mahar participated in the meeting. According to police, former-investigation officer (IO) of the case, Jahanzeb recorded his statement before the JIT.
The team will meet on daily basis to analyze the evidences and record statement of every single person who can provide further information, the officials said.
The Sindh Home Department had formed an investigation team to further probe the Baldia factory fire that killed over 250 people in 2012, after MQM raised its reservations over the previous JIT’s report.
