MUZAFFARGARH: A mother and daughter have been brutally gang-raped in front of their family in a village near Muzaffargarh. An FIR was lodged against the 10 perpetrators on Wednesday, however police have not made any arrests yet.
According to a report by The Express Tribune, the assailants allegedly broke into the home of the woman’s parents, where she was staying with her two children as her husband was in Dera Ghazi Khan due to work. Several influential people of the Shah Jamal area stole some money and snatched a mobile phone from the woman’s 10 year old son.
When the mother and daughter resisted their advances, they were tortured and then dragged to nearby fields where they were gang-raped in front of the woman’s elderly parents; Manzoor Hussain and Zohran Mai.
On complaint, an FIR was lodged against the assailants, identified as Asif, Khizar, Amir, Kamran, Bilal, Imran and four others.
According to reports by The Express Tribune, the accused individual’s requests of interim bail have been declined and arrests will be made soon. There has been an increase in the number of rape cases being reported since the brutal assault and murder of Zainab which shook the entire nation earlier this month.
