KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday allowed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to issue weapon licenses on the request of the federal government.
A three-member bench headed by SHC Chief Justice Faisal Arab heard a petition filed by a citizen.
The petitioner submitted that the federal government is issuing arms licenses through NADRA despite the Supreme Court and Sindh High Court’s orders. This action is contempt of court.
In response to this petition federation requesting the court issuance of weapon license through NADRA should be allowed under the prevailing circumstances until the court issues its final verdict on pending petition.
After hearing arguments from the both sides, the SHC temporarily allowed NADRA to issue weapon licenses to citizens of Sindh.
