SINGAPORE (Staff Report) – Forbes is going to launch its Under 30 Summit Asia in May, inviting nearly 250 of most influential young entrepreneurs, innovators and game-changers from across Asia primarily and the rest of the world.
The summit is expected to convene on May 19, 2016 in Singapore.
This group of high achievers are all under 30 years of age and were honored and featured (across ten different categories) in last month’s inaugural Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia list.
The Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore is the host partner of the summit. The Forbes Under 30 Summit Asia is part of Singapore’s Smart Nation Innovations Week, a festival where tech meets innovation. The summit will also bring together industry leaders who served as judges for the Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia list, as well as selected VIPs.
The summit will feature panels, TED-style presentations, key notes, as well as mentorship from successful business leaders.
Featured speakers include Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia list judges, such as Singapore’s Royston Tay, tech guru and CEO of Zopim; and Binod Chaudhary, Nepal’s first billionaire and Chairman of Chaudhary Group, as well as Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Asia list honorees Leandro Leviste, Founder of Solar Philippines; Alok Shetty, Founder of Bhumiputra Architecture and award-winning social entrepreneur; Lu Cheng, artificial intelligence expert and Founder of Raven Tech; Pakistan’s TV anchor Muniba Mazari; Singapore’s Mohamed Abbas, Co-founder of Onelyst, and many others. “We are delighted to bring Forbes’ successful Under 30 Summit to Asia for the first time and look forward to hosting a dynamic and powerful group of millennials in Singapore,” said Alan Griffin, Forbes Media’s Managing Director, Digital Asia.
“This summit will provide a unique platform for young entrepreneurs, game-changers and disruptors to come together, to learn, share, collaborate, be inspired and give back to the local community in Singapore.
“Singapore, ranked among the world’s most competitive economies, is also one of the most globally connected countries. As a leading tech and innovation hub in the region, Singapore is the perfect location to host this summit,” he added.
Forbes Under 30 Summit Asia is an extension of Forbes Asia magazine’s inaugural “30 Under 30 Asia” list, launched in February 2016, featuring 300 young entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders across Asia who are under 30 years of age. The list covers 10 categories – Culture: Art & Style, Food & Drink; Manufacturing & Energy; Entertainment & Sports; Consumer Technology & Games; Finance & Venture Capital; Enterprise Technology; Media, Marketing & Advertising; Health Care & Science; Social Entrepreneurs; and Retail and E-Commerce – with each of the honorees vetted by a panel of expert judges in their respective fields.
