LAHORE – Former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore.
Nawaz was released from jail at 1:00 am. A large number of PML-N leaders and workers were present in front of jail to welcome him. They chanted slogans showered flowers on their leader.
Those who were present in front of jail to welcome Nawaz were included Senator Mushadullah Khan, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Bilal Yasin, Imran Nazir and others.

PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif had reached Raiwind to receive his brother at home where Maryam Nawaz Sharif along with other family members was also present.
Earlier, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court granted six-week bail to Nawaz Sharif against two surety bonds of 5 million rupees each for medical treatment within the country.
In a 4-page verdict released on Tuesday, the apex court found the suspension of the sentence for a limited time reasonable.
“In this peculiar backdrop, and extending due deference to the consistent medical opinion of senior doctors available on the record, the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner regarding admission of the petitioner to bail upon suspension of his sentence for a limited period has been found by us to be reasonable,” the order read.
