ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif termed the federal budget for fiscal year 2017-18 as very balanced and good while claiming that it would have sound impact on the country’s economy.
Talking to newsmen here on Friday after the presentation of federal budget in the National Assembly, he said special emphasis had been laid on the poor in the preparation of budget and they have been provided relief.
‘Appropriate funds have been allocated for various ongoing and proposed power generation projects to address the electricity crisis on permanent basis’ said the premier.
Prime Minister expressed that measures had also been proposed for the betterment of agriculture and growers.

To a question, the Prime Minister said the next budget would also be presented by the PML-N government.
Earlier, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar Friday unveiled the fifth consecutive Rs4,778 billion budget of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government for the fiscal year 2017-18.
The government has enhanced the minimum wage to Rs 15000 for the working class whereas Rs 121 billion has been earmarked for the Benazir Income Support Program.
This is the first time ruling PML-N has been able to present fifth consecutive budget under the chair of prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
