SAWAT (Staff Report) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khatak on Tuesday reached earthquake-hit area of Sawat, to review the ongoing rescue and relief operation under Provincial National Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
Earlier this day he also visited Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital to inquired about the health of earthquake victims.
Talking to newsmen on the occasion, Khan announced that KPK’s provincial government will take every possible step for quickest rehabilitation of earthquake hit areas.
“I am going to visit other areas including Malakand division which has been severely affected by earthquake along KPK Chief Minister Pervez Khatak,” he said.
He further added that KPK government will convene a special session of provincial cabinet to review the rules about building construction following the deadly quake. If proper measures are taken while constructing buildings in sensitive areas there would be lesser losses due to earthquake, he said.
Imran Khan also urged prominent personalities and media persons to avoid visiting hospitals saying that their presence affects the aiding function of doctors.
