OKARA (Staff Report) – US Consul General Lahore, Mr. Zachary Harkenrider, visited Okara on Tuesday and attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Green Heaven Farms as chief guest.
The Green Heaven has recently entered in to a joint venture agreement with S & W Seed Company of Fresno, California for the cultivation of alfalfa in Pakistan.
Consul General Harkenrider said that this will give dairy farmers a healthier choice in fodder for dairy cows, that has the potential to not only help farmers produce more milk, but a healthier product reliant on fewer chemicals.
He further added that business relationships are also relationships between people.
American businesses in Pakistan are actively promoting education, advancing healthcare, providing clean drinking water and developing the skills of local workforce.
The Consul General’s visit to Okara serves to advance shared interests in the economic sector for a stable, secure, and prosperous Pakistan.
