Section-144 imposed in Islamabad for two months ahead of PTI s lockdown

ISLAMABAD – The district administration in Islamabad has imposed Section-144 in the federal capital, banning public gatherings ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s lockdown plan.

According to Samaa News, the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad issued a notification of the Section-144 that will remain enforced for 60 days.

Under the law, gathering of five or more than five people will not be allowed in the Islamabad district for two months.

The decision came as PTI prepared for Nov 2 lockdown plan.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has called on his party workers to lay siege to Islamabad on Nov 2 until Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns or presents himself for accountability in the backdrop of the Panama Papers leaks.
