Eid-ul-Fitr: Federal government announces four holidays

ISLAMABAD: The Federal government has announced four public holidays from 5th July (Tuesday) to July 8th (Friday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Ministry of Interior issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

Coupled with two weekly off days, government employees will enjoy six holidays.

Under the Muslim Hijri calendar, Eid-ul-Fitr is the religious festival of Muslims, which is celebrated on the first of Shawwal, marking the end of the holy month of fasting known as Ramazan.

Director General of Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that Eid in the country is likely to fall on July 6.
