ISLAMABAD – The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet (ECC) has approved the export of 200,000 tonnes of sugar.
The approval was granted in a meeting which was headed by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday.
According to Radio Pakistan, the ECC approved public sector procurement of wheat for 2016-17 crop against the target of 7.05 million tonnes.
The Committee also extended applicability period of reduced rate of withholding tax of 0.4 percent on banking transactions of non-filers up to 30th of June this year.
It also accorded approval for issuance of one month’s salary worth Rs 380 million for December 2016 to employees of Pakistan Steel Mills, Karachi.
